Shaquille O'Neal Mold : LA Lakers

The sculptors behind the Lakers Legends series and the Shaquille O’Neal statue are Julie Rotblatt-Amrany and Omri Amrany, artists and owners of the Fine Art Studio of Rotblatt-Amrany.  The 10' dunking Shaq was designed to be art suspended in air.  Sculpture Resource artists, Jessica LoPresti and Oscar Leon, were honored to be a part of the project team, working on the sculpting of the clay as well as fabricating the rubber and plaster mother mold.

Molds are the gateway between the clay sculpture and the finished bronze artwork. Shaq’s mold, engineered by Sculpture Resource, captured the shape and the details of the clay sculpture and sent to Alchemist Foundry to be cast in bronze.

On March 24, 2017, the sculpture was unveiled outside of the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Shaq alongside numerous Lakers legends, teammates, and fans gathered for this celebratory occasion.
